👨‍💻 About Me

Hello! I’m Ujjal Roy, a passionate and focused software engineer from Nilphamari, Bangladesh. I hold a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU), where I’ve consistently maintained academic excellence and earned the Dean’s List Scholarship Award.

As a developer, I specialize in backend web development using technologies like Laravel, Django, MySQL, and more. I’ve worked on impactful projects such as JABO, a smart pathfinding application, AERG, an automated exam routine generator, and the official website for HSTU-RDPC, our university's(including 12 university of rangpur division) programming contest event.

Beyond development, I’m deeply involved in competitive programming with over 2500+ problems solved across platforms like Codeforces, CodeChef, AtCoder, and have participated in prestigious contests like ICPC Asia Regional, Meta Hacker Cup, and BUET IUPC, achieving impressive ranks.

🔬 Research Interest

Currently, I’m actively researching emotion detection from text, with a focus on underrepresented languages like Bengali. My goal is to build high-quality datasets and robust models for Bangla and Bengali-English code-mixed texts, contributing to natural language processing (NLP) and social AI. I’m also exploring sarcasm detection in Bangla, which presents a unique linguistic challenge.
